Celebrating Ramadan Galabeya Day!

The entire school community came together to commemorate this special occasion, immersing themselves in the festive spirit of Ramadan.

The day commenced with an enchanting sight as students arrived dressed in their colorful galabeyas and Ramadan outfits. The school transformed into a lively hub of cultural diversity, showcasing various traditional attires and creating a captivating atmosphere.

The festivities kicked off with a series of joyful activities, tailored to each grade level. The Foundation Stage (FS) students were treated to a delightful puppet show, where they learned about the significance of fasting during Ramadan. The interactive performance helped them understand the values and principles associated with this holy month.

Moving on to Key Stage 1 (KS1), students engaged in creative in-class activities. They joyfully colored Ramadan lanterns, Meanwhile, the older students in Key Stage 2 (KS2) showcased their remarkable talent through outstanding performances. From enchanting recitations of Quranic verses to mesmerizing traditional dances, the students left the audience in awe with their dedication and skill. Their performances truly reflected the spirit of Ramadan, fostering unity and promoting cultural appreciation.

The highlight of the day was the Oriental Dish Party organized in each class. Students indulged in a delectable array of traditional dishes, tantalizing their taste buds with the rich flavors of the Middle East. From savory delicacies to mouthwatering desserts, the oriental snacks elevated the festive experience, making the day even more enjoyable.

As the day drew to a close, the school community bid farewell to Ramadan Galabeya Day with hearts filled with joy and memories that would last a lifetime. The event served as a reminder of the richness of cultural heritage and the power of unity in creating a harmonious community.

Celebrating a Successful End of Term 1 with Fun-Filled Activities!

Windrose wrapped up Term 1 with great success and lots of fun. The Winter Show showcased the talents of Foundations Stage and Key Stage 1 students, while Key Stages 2, 3, and 4 completed their exams and enjoyed exciting activities.

Foundations Stage and Key Stage 1 stole the spotlight at the Winter Show with enchanting performances. Key Stage 2 had a Cross Fit  Day followed by a Pyjama Day, while Key Stages 3 and 4 celebrated their exams with a Pyjama Day, hot chocolate, and a dish party.
The students displayed their talents, worked hard, and had a blast.
The conclusion of Term 1 was marked by a heartwarming event that brought smiles to everyone’s faces. The activity Team organized a delightful garage sale, spreading joy and happiness throughout the school community. The event fostered a spirit of collaboration and goodwill, strengthening the bonds within the school community

Celebrating 50 Years of October Victory: A Resounding Success!

We are thrilled to share the incredible success of our recent celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the October Victory! The event was a resounding triumph, filled with vibrant energy, exceptional performances, and an outpouring of creativity from our talented students at Windrose.

Throughout the week-long festivities, our students engaged in a wide array of activities, all aimed at commemorating this momentous historical milestone in a meaningful and educational way. Their enthusiasm and dedication truly brought the spirit of the October Victory to life.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the outstanding performances by our students. They showcased their talent and creativity through mesmerizing plays, captivating musical performances, and breathtaking dance routines. The commitment and hard work of our students and teachers were evident in every moment, leaving the audience spellbound and inspired.

In addition to the remarkable stage performances, our students also embarked on various projects that delved into the historical significance of the October Victory. Through research, presentations, and artwork, they explored the key events and personalities associated with this historic period. It was truly heartening to witness their inquisitiveness and deep understanding of our nation’s history.

In the classrooms, teachers organized engaging activities that allowed students to further immerse themselves in the spirit of the October Victory. International Day 2023

Countries of the world celebrate at Windrose Academy!

Windrose Academy students celebrated a very colourful, successful and enjoyable International Day.  All the Key Stages chose countries to represent.  The countries chosen were Greece, France, Egypt, India, Malaysia, Germany, Spain, Japan, UAE, USA, China, Kenya, Russia, Italy, Philippines, South Korea, and Lebanon. Turkey was also represented by FS1 students and we were honoured to have with us a delegation from the Turkish Embassy.

It was indeed a day to remember.  Not only did the students and teachers wear national costumes, but they also researched and prepared information about each country, as well as sang songs and danced. Students enjoyed tasting the food of their country and in a truly international spirit of peace and love our countries exchanged this knowledge of food and culture with each other.  An amazing fun and educational day was had by everyone in school. At the end of this memorable day, everyone returned to their native habitat, informed and well-nourished!

Environmental Week

Windrose Students work on saving the environment

Windrose Academy joins the world to try and save our Environment! Students in all the Key Stages spent 1 week learning about saving the environment by taking part in many activities like; sorting rubbish in labeled bins; planting seeds in the school garden; writing about how to save the environment in English classes and doing various experiments in science. A successful workshop was held by 2 teachers who are enthusiastic about saving the environment which addressed the Sustainability of the Environment. The week ended with a fashion show ‘Junk to Punk’ where students created outfits made from recycled trash.   The final activity and proudly for the first time in school history, Year 4 and 5 students had a Zoom discussion with a school in India to exchange ideas and learn more about how other students of their age group are trying to save the environment.
